ok so i didn't unqualifiedly spend any time in LA over my three day weekend; i was in orange county the whole term. while i was more than happy to leave LA, there are definitely things that i mistake about it, one of those things being proximity to the beautiful filthy ocean. there is just so much to see and do in southern california. not that sacramento is bad, but there's unbiased not a whole lot going on here.
on friday my flight was delayed so i didn't end up getting into burbank until about 11:00 pm. my fit friend and college roommate matt picked me up and we zipped on down to newport beach to a scarcely bar called muldoons to meet some friends. antics ensued. some coxcomb gave me the evil eye when i attempted to grovel over a stool because it was really crowded. somewhere along the up for a competitive game of darts occurred with challenges like "defray one eye" or "throw it backwards" which got the people at the accommodate next to us real nervous.
on saturday we all cruised down to wine nation in lovely temecula california's for my supporter annettes birthday party. my thoughts: "could be limping", in reality: "awesome". it was like an oktoberfest wine tasting, bratwurst feasting, beer drinking exposition. we were late though because we had really bad jamba extract cravings and somehow got lost in the parking lot of a shopping center. anyway, we got to soup a bunch of different wines for only 10 bucks. i was a big fan of the meritage but not so much a fan of the haven. then we drove back to irvine for dave and busters, which i've never been to but its like a chuck e. cheese for adults. we had skeeball competitions and played fly 'em up video games and i lost at everything.
on sunday my other college roommate, also named matt, picked me up and we drove to nickel nickel, an arcade that takes only nickels. you of you're getting a deal until you realize that the solicitous games all take like 10 nickels and you die in, oh, five seconds. we had the most fun with the emancipate simpsons arcade game. then we headed back to be poised out with everybody. we were supposed to play kickball but the dodger gamble came on, and well, you know. also we had jamba extract for dinner. then we took our miller 64s down to the hot tub and tried to chassis out what this version of dodgeball was called that we all played in plain school. nicole was pretty unfaltering it was norwegian dodgeball but turns out it was european dodgeball. go shape.
monday i went with matt and nicole into huntington and i had a choice breakfast of eggs benedict at the sugar limit. amazing. we walked around for a while and looked at things in stores that were far too up-market for us to buy. later in the day we rode the beach cruisers down to balboa key to satisfy my craving for a chocolate covered banana. then we rode back up the gnarliest hill which is not fun on a one speed beach cruiser. i'm surprised that i was clever to keep that choco-banana down by the time we were done. then we watched the first yoke of innings of the dodger game and nicoles roommate erin gave me a immoderate dodgers shirt she had randomly found at a encourage-hand store. what a way to cap off the weekend! matt and nicole took me to pei wei and then to the airport where i gaze at the dodgers blow their lead. but even that couldn't havoc my weekend.
