Ford Wishes General Motors Happy 100th Birthday
Birthday cards are so last year
Possibly a sign of tough economic times (no mazuma to buy a birthday card or cake?) but car Amazon Ford decided to bypass the traditional birthday calling-card this month when competitor General Motors (manufacturers of brands like Holden, Cadillac and Daewoo) distinguished their 100th birthday. Instead, Ford strategically opened and closed special to blinds at their Head Office in Michigan, USA, illuminating windows to allure out “Happy 100 GM”.
A memo was sent to wand reminding them about the stunt and thanking them for portion “make Ford motor corporation shine”. And shine they did. It seems that the media were more interested in this rather than the factors that GM had turned 100.
A gesture of goodwill or a imaginative, inexpensive marketing ploy to subtly shoplift GM’s thunder on one of the company’s most important days?
Either way, I true-love it and so did the media!
