CPI(M) seeks sine die adjournment of the Gratis
New Delhi (PTI): Attacking the UPA government for the "disgusting" way of treating Parliament, the CPI(M) on Thursday demanded sine die adjournment of the Company so that a full- fledged Winter Session could be convened next month.

Noting that this year Parliament has been in assembly for less than 40 days, the CPI(M) Polit Section said that the next session should be a full-fledged Winter Sitting and "not a farcical continuation" of the July 21-22 assembly.

"Parliament will have to be adjourned sine die so that the Winter Conference can be convened in December. The presiding officers have the bit to see that this travesty of Parliamentary democracy is not perpetuated," the cocktail said.

The CPI(M) noted that the UPA government refused to convene the Monsoon Period and it then announced that a continued session of the July 21-22 red-letter trust vote would be held from October 17 to November 21.

"Now, scarcely a week after the convening of Parliament, it is being adjourned again on October 24. This exposes the concentrate partisan interests which dictated the unclear postponement of the Monsoon session and the doing away with of the Winter Term," the Politburo said in a statement.

It said this "filthy contempt" for Parliament is compounded by the rejection of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to veneration his own commitment to seek Parliamentary sanction for the nuclear deal.

The party said if the command does not convene a fresh sitting, it would consult with all other like-minded conflict parties to decide on the next course of sortie.
