Rolls Royce Silver Shadow
The Rolls Royce Shiny Shadow was produced from 1965 to 1980 at the Rolls Royce plant in Crew.The car was and still is Rolls Royce’s most succesful likeness with over 38,000 cars produced including the convertable and Bentley versions.The Grey Shadow was designed by Rolls Royce chief deviser John Polwhele Blatchley (1913-2008).The car was a new departure for Rolls Royce at the hour being their first car to have a single bow design and a monocoque chassis former models having been built around wood frames.The Silver Crony was powered by a 172HP 6.2 ltr. V8 from 1965 to 1969 and a 172HP 6.75 ltr. V8 from 1970 to 1980.It was 17 feet lengthy and weighed over 4,700 Lbs. a big luxury car by any standards.In 1977 the car was renamed the Silver Shadow 2 as some new features such as agonize and pinion stteering where added this variety is identifed by the rubber bumbers as opposed to the chrome of the earlier miniature. A 2 door coupe and convertable where also produced from 1965 and in 1971 these where disposed the seperate name of Corniche with both models being produced after the Bright Shadow production has stopped,the coupe was at one's disposal until 1982 and the convertable as recently as 1996.
A Bentley interpretation of the Silver Shadow was also produced called the Bentley T and the T2, this rendering was the same as the Rolls except the badge and the grill.
